This Privacy Policy describes how InterEnglish ("we", "the app") collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use our mobile application. By using InterEnglish you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: name, email address and authentication identifiers when you sign in.
• Learning data: exercise scores, lesson progress, vocabulary decks, classroom memberships and activity history.
• Voice recordings: short audio clips processed in real time for pronunciation evaluation. Audio is sent to Microsoft Azure Speech Services and is not stored on our servers after processing.
• Device information: device model, operating system version, app version, language and crash diagnostics.
• Advertising identifiers (IDFA): only when you explicitly grant App Tracking Transparency permission.

2. Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate and improve the app:

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics, Remote Config, Analytics, Storage) — to provide accounts, store learning progress and diagnose crashes.
• Google AdMob — to display advertising. AdMob may collect data subject to its own privacy policy.
• Google User Messaging Platform — to obtain GDPR consent from users in regulated regions.
• Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services (Speech) — to evaluate spoken English in real time. Subject to Microsoft's privacy statement.
• TextGears — to provide grammar correction in writing exercises.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Provide and personalize learning content.
• Track your progress and award achievements.
• Enable classroom and teacher features.
• Send notifications about assignments and reminders.
• Display relevant or non-personalized advertising.
• Diagnose crashes and improve stability.

4. Advertising and Consent (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we will request your consent through a Google-provided consent form before showing personalized ads. If you decline personalization, you will see non-personalized ads instead. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time from the in-app privacy settings.

5. App Tracking Transparency (Apple)

iOS users will see a system prompt asking permission to track. If you decline, advertising identifiers will not be used to deliver personalized ads, and the app will continue to function normally.

6. Children's Privacy

InterEnglish is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain account and progress data while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at the email below. Voice recordings are not retained after processing.

8. Data Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including HTTPS for all network communication and Firebase Security Rules to restrict server-side access. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, but we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
